NEBB Standards & Certifications
The National Environmental Balancing Bureau, or NEBB, is an international non-profit association that provides certification of firms, professionals and technicians that deliver high-performance mechanical systems. Founded in 1971 and widely considered to be the premier certification association, NEBB establishes and maintains industry standards, procedures, and specifications for the following disciplines: Testing, Adjusting and Balancing (TAB); Building Systems Commissioning (BSC); Technical Retro-Commissioning for Existing Buildings (RCX-EB); Sound Measurement and Vibration Measurement (SM and VM); Building Enclosure Testing (BET); Fume Hood Testing (FHT); and Cleanroom Performance Testing (CPT).
MSC is leading HVAC, process cooling, and building automation service specialist serving the commercial, industrial, and institutional sectors. MSC has achieved the standards set forth by NEBB to receive certification in BSC, RCX-EB, and TAB, and we are staffed by numerous NEBB-certified technicians and managing personnel.
Building owners looking to extract optimum performance from their HVAC and environmental systems should look for NEBB-certification to ensure that firms and personnel are fully qualified to perform these critical procedures. In order to receive NEBB certification, a firm must have been in business for at least one year and enjoy an outstanding reputation for integrity and superior performance. They must also possess the high-tech instruments and equipment, calibrated to NEBB standards, required to effectively perform the disciplines in which they are certified. Each firm must designate a certified professional from within the company to supervise all NEBB-related work. Individuals seeking NEBB certification must receive training and pass the required examinations.
